At Perpetual, we deeply value the infusion of new ideas, fresh energy, and unique perspectives. We take pride in our highly discerning and competitive internship program, with hundreds of applications received each year, and only a handful of them selected.

These outstanding candidates represent the next generation of talent from the most prestigious educational institutions. Over the years, our interns have hailed from renowned schools such as Princeton, Harvard, Columbia, IIT, USC, UPenn, National University of Singapore, Berkeley, NYU, University of Maryland, RISD and others.

Today, we are thrilled to shine a spotlight on two exceptional individuals from our 2023 summer intern program—one from our Product Design team and one from our Software Engineering Team. Join us as we introduce Kendall, from Princeton University, and Nandish, from UCal Berkeley, who have embarked on an enriching learning journey during their time at Perpetual.

Kendall Jeong - Design Intern

Meet Kendall, a talented intern on the UX Design team at Perpetual. Currently pursuing her undergraduate studies at Princeton University, Kendall is majoring in Economics and Computer Science. Beyond her academic pursuits, she holds the esteemed position of President of the Princeton Entrepreneurship Club and has made significant contributions as a designer for Chaac Ventures and Princeton Innovation. In addition to her academic pursuits, Kendall enjoys expressing her creativity through pen art, staying active with cycling and CrossFit, and cherishing quality time with friends.

We asked Kendall some questions about her experience as a design intern at Perpetual, and here is what she had to say.

Q: What's a fun fact about you?

A fun fact about me is that I’ve been skydiving!

Q: What has been the highlight of your internship so far?

The most valuable aspect of my internship at Perpetual so far has been the exceptional mentorship I’ve received. Shreyansh, my assigned mentor, has been supportive, actively involved in my work, and has provided thorough feedback on all of my projects. In fact, I was given a document where I listed out my goals and intentions during my Perpetual internship, and that feedback was used to curate the projects I was assigned.

Q: What is a tip or skill you learned that you will bring back to school with you?

I will definitely be bringing back all of the Figma tips and tricks I’ve learned so far. From interactive components to keyboard shortcuts, I’ve already been able to make my workflow far more efficient. I don’t know how I went so long without using auto layout!

Q: What was one of your learnings that you find the most valuable?

Learning about Perpetual’s internal operations has been valuable to me. Seeing the way that projects are managed, organized, and communicated between the team has been super informative.

Q: How do you see this internship contributing to your future goals?

Being part of an agile design team this summer has given me valuable insight into the type of work environment I plan on pursuing in the future. Experiencing the culture and workflow of designers firsthand has shown me how dynamic the role is and how much potential there is for designers to expand their careers, especially with the advent of AI integration and the potential rise of VR with Apple’s Vision Pro. Not to mention, I feel as though I’ve significantly improved my design skills and awareness through the experience and instruction I’ve received.

Nandish Khandhar - Software Engineering Intern

Allow us to also introduce Nandish, an exceptional Software Engineering Intern at Perpetual. Currently studying Computer Science at UC Berkeley with a minor in Astrophysics, Nandish's aptitude for mathematics led him to rank 3rd out of 300 students on the AMC10 (American Mathematics Competition). When he's not immersed in code, Nandish enjoys playing badminton, exploring captivating books, and staying up to date with the latest TV shows.

We also asked Nandish some questions about his experience as a software engineer intern at Perpetual, and here is what he had to say.

Q: What's a fun fact about you?

I have a scuba diving license!

Q: What has been the highlight of your internship so far?

The highlight of the internship was working on a leading Venture Capital Firm’s new website, and seeing it all come together in a few weeks. Being involved in the project was a great learning experience. Nick and Vishal have been amazing mentors and made the internship really enjoyable.

Q: What is a tip or skill you learned that you will bring back to school with you?

Working with innovative no code / low code tools like Webflow is definitely one of the skills I will take back. Webflow takes a different approach to designing components that makes development faster and more efficient.

Q: What was one of your learnings that you find the most valuable?

Seeing the workflow in a real company and how everything is handled on a higher level was really interesting to see. It was super helpful to work with real clients and see how projects are planned and executed.

Q: How do you see this internship contributing to your future goals?

Looking forward to this summer and even the rest of my college life, the skills I have gained will help me use and learn new tech stacks in the future. My aim is to work on some personal projects over the next year, for instance, an app/website for some ideas that I have. Everything I’ve learned at Perpetual will serve as a standard for anything I work on moving forward.
