How do you measure design success?

We measure design success at various stages of the design process to ensure we’re building the correct product, saving development time and resources.

  • Taking the time to do an initial round of discovery gives first passes at design a strong, user-centric start.
  • To test information architecture, we conduct tree tests with users to ensure our organization principles resonate.
  • We conduct usability tests throughout the design phase to catch any issues before the product is built.
  • We determine KPIs to help us determine whether a design is performing or not.
  • We continuously monitor designs through analytics, surveys, and periodic user testings to ensure designs continue to succeed.

How do you test and validate your designs before handoff?

We validate our designs with our clients, users, and internally before committing anything to code.

  • Taking the time to do an initial round of discovery gives first passes at design a strong, user-centric start.

How do you incorporate feedback and iteration throughout the process?

Project Management

Who will be the main point of contact?

For every project, you’ll have an account manager and a project manager to act as your main points for contact. You’ll also have direct contact with your project team via email or chosen messaging platform for the project.

How does Perpetual manage projects?

Perpetual projects are typically run in an agile process, in periodic sprints with specific project and release milestones.

How do you structure communication and status updates?

We typically communicate with clients in the following ways:

  1. Email: Typically for bigger updates, deliverables, etc. We use email for more formal communication needs.
  2. Messaging platforms: We use tools like slack and teams to communicate on a day to day basis for quick questions / feedback.
  3. Status update meetings: These are conducted on the platform of our clients choosing and are typically held 1-2 times a week to present updates and get feedback on completed work.

How do you manage timelines, milestones, and approvals?

We typically start a project with some general idea of the level of effort required and high level timelines. Our discovery process helps us further refine our timelines and develop more detailed plans for how we will tackle the project and what it will involve. We typically phase out a project into key milestones we identify with our client (this can be broken down into work phases like discovery, design, and development, or something like different parts of an application or website we might me tackling). These phases are further broken down into working sprints which are comprised by a series of tasks / backlog items.

What deliverables can be expected at each stage of a project?

Deliverables are agreed upon during the early stages of a project and can vary based on project needs; however, some typical deliverables that can be expected include but are not limited to:

  1. Discovery
    • Product Audits
    • Competitive Analysis
    • Interview Transcripts
