Izzy is an incoming freshman at Princeton University this fall, where she plans to pursue a Bachelor of Science in Engineering in Computer Science. Izzy is also an incoming coxswain on the Princeton Women's Crew team.

Izzy was the president of Girls Who Code at her high school and captain of her crew team at the Connecticut Boat Club.

Her hobbies include reading, running, Bikram yoga, skiing and tennis. She is also a foodie and enjoys exploring the world with her family!

Q: What's a fun fact about you?‍

I posted the fastest time for the half marathon on my crew team!

Q: What has been the highlight of your internship so far?‍

It's hard to choose a singular highlight, as my entire experience at Perpetual has been great. I’ve been working on promoting user acquisition and retention for our main company website, so it's super rewarding to see that my work has led to successful results when reviewing the website analytics!

Another great highlight was seeing the new F1 movie with the entire team for our CEO and the company’s birthday (yes, they are on the same day!) and everyone getting a massive tub of popcorn!

Q: What is a tip or skill you learned that you will bring back to school with you?‍

A vital takeaway has been understanding the various factors that contribute to user acquisition and retention for products and services. It’s been very eye-opening to learn, and if I ever work on a future project in school or possibly a startup later in my career, I now have a deeper understanding of business psychology and marketing strategy to raise brand awareness and drive ‘virtual foot traffic’ to a product or service.

This internship has also exposed me to the immense power of mentorship. Researching and absorbing information is extremely helpful. Yet, undoubtedly, working closely with experts within the industry has been an unparalleled experience. My mentor, Will, has been extremely attentive and patient, providing me with continuous feedback and guidance throughout the internship.

Entering my first semester of college this fall, I will prioritize establishing relationships with my professors and other leaders, having realized the paramount importance of mentorship in the learning process.

Q: What was one of your learnings that you find the most valuable?‍

As part of my internship and research, I had the opportunity to read numerous articles on various industry topics, including engineering, web development, AI, cybersecurity, UX/UI design, business strategy, product management, and more. The abundance of research allowed me to absorb an amount of information I could have never predicted, and really grow intellectually as a person. The knowledge I have gained, specifically in engineering and web development, will be of extreme value for future projects.

Q: How do you see this internship contributing to your future goals?‍

I am planning to study computer science, engineering, and mathematics at Princeton, and this internship has significantly enhanced my understanding of these topics. I am especially interested in studying AI and machine learning in college, and through this internship, I was able to learn about the current state of AI, its functionality, creation, and where the industry is progressing.

My internship focus on customer growth has equipped me with lifelong skills regarding business psychology and strategic decision-making.
