Client Overview

Families First is a non-profit that assists over 40,000 families each year with solutions to improve wellbeing of children in jeopardy by empowering families.

We teamed up with Families First to build a learning platform to help families cope better when social issues arise, becoming more self-sufficient as a result.

Project Goal

The purpose of this project was for Families first to become a standard training platform for non-profits in English-speaking regions. Few of the high-level goals included:

Every employee gets the training that they require and gets to work at their own pace

Enticing and encouraging environment that makes the users motivated

Platform that encourages users to take more courses than the mandatory ones

Approach

Research
We started this project by getting an in-depth understanding of the users, learning about the kind of courses provided on the platform, and the pain points through thorough UX research.

Design
We identified the UX research insights and project goals in order to innovate, generate ideas and produce designs while working on the user experience.

Evaluation
After capturing the user feedback and working on the design, we evaluated our progress and the changes to measure the delivered UX designs.

Problems

COURSE LIMITATION

Lack of courses to teach effective parenting during the transitions of divorce or parental separation.

PLATFORM INCOMPATIBILITY

Default eCommerce gateway incompatible with Paypal.

CERTIFICATE GENERATION

Manual certificate generation upon course completion.

CONTENT LIMITATION

Lack of expertise in creation of multimedia learning content.

Solution

Learning Platform

A comprehensive learning platform for Families First to build upon and instructional design and video production services for the content offered.

Certificate

Automated the process of generating learners’ certificates, which was done manually previously. Upon successful completion, user would get certificate in a PDF form.

Payment Process

Consolidated user’s payment process through Paypal integration.

Results

After the solutions were implemented, we eliminated the need for Families First’s operation teams to manually generate learner certificates and consolidate users’ payment processes through Paypal integration.

After successful project completion and product development, we got the opportunity to work with Families First again in order to re-design their corporate learning offerings.
